Cuticle 101 with Dr. Jocelyn Rose

Dr. Rose is the Director of the School of Integrative Plant Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. He is an internationally recognized scholar whose research has revealed fundamental insights into the structure and development of plant cell walls, with important implications for the production of food and other plant-based products. In 2014, Joss was elected a fellow of the AAAS, and in 2020, he was recognized as a highly cited researcher in Plant & Animal Science, ranking in the top 1% of citations in his field. He is the recipient of the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture’s Honor Award as well as the 2021 CALS award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Research. Rose earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Manchester and his Ph.D. at the University of California – Davis, working on the mechanisms of cell wall modification in ripening.
